Signs of Spring are starting to pull us out of the long dark winter and it is easier to look forward to what this new year may bring for Mary and Me creatively. Being an indie artist means that you can end up doing everything yourself - at least in our case, this is true. Most of it is not glamorous, sometimes leaves us scratching our collective heads, and can even make us rather morose.
The Winter has been productive; albeit mostly behind the scenes. We have done work on our modest recording studio environment, finished phase one of our website, pressed our first album to CD (available now), and have written new material for our second album "Ethereal Voices." The deceptively simple idea of selling things on our website has been much more complex that we imagined, but now that it is done, it is done.
We released a celebration single on the Spotify streaming platform titled “Lost You in the Forest” to mark 200,000 streams of our music being played on that service. If you give it a listen, it gives you a bit of the flavor of the direction the music is taking for our second album. We are now releasing this on other music listening platforms.
What we really want these days is to hear from listeners of our music… what you like, what you don't, and any thoughts or other comments you would like to share with us. That's the next project for both this website and our Facebook page. We hope that Ethereal Voices will be ready for release this June. Thank you for supporting us.
